Participating in the Rajasthan Integrated Fluoride Mitigation Program

Project Background & Objectives: The Project Aims to cover all the villages/habitations where the local groundwater sources have a fluoride content of 3 to 5 ppm. The program includes IEC activities in the target areas, distribution, and subsequent maintenance of the Domestic De-fluoridation Units (DDFUs).

Activities completed and methodology followed: Urban Planning
• Preparatory Works: Identification of villages/habitations by reconfirmation of fluoride content.
• BPL/APL Survey
• IEC Activities for target beneficiaries.
• Sensitization in the community on water-related issues
• HRD activities
• Distribution and installation of the DDFUs.

Results/outcomes achieved:
• Door to door contact for demographic/family/BPL survey and informing the 8740 villagers/habitations about the programme.
• Slogan writing in Hindi and Rajasthani related to the project.
• Wall Painting at prominent and strategic locations.
• Public meetings for awareness on the water.
• Receiving and distribution with the installation of the 2436 DDFUs to identified/ certified BPL families in the villages.
• Convey the 476 APL families by motivating them to adopt the DDFUs.
• Establish the periodically of regeneration for the distributed and installed DDFUs by close monitoring and the fluoride concentration of the output water shall be tested fortnightly.
