Participatory Management of Community Toilet under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban)

Project Background & Objectives:
1. Informal Educational Programme to 250 Rag Pickers in Southwest Delhi
2. Welfare Programme for 1000 waste pickers in Nazafgarh Zone of Southwest Delhi

Objectives:
• Improve Literacy
• Enroll children in government Secondary Schools
• Meeting with parents of Rag Pickers
• Reduction in decreased incidence
• Reduction in acute Malnutrition
• Empower of Cluster
• Behavior Change

Project location: Delhi

Activities completed and methodology followed:
• Improve the children of waste pickers to continue their studies
• Coordinate with waste pickers’ children for
a) financial upgrading,
b) Banking Knowledge, c) Account Opening, etc. • Ability to calculate money earned
• Behavior changes of the Rag Pickers to bring streamline of the society
• Improvement in overall literacy and they will understand how the study will help to become an ideal citizen. • Avoid involving in no social activities and crimes.

Results/outcomes achieved: Immediate Impact
• Ability enhances to calculate money earned
• Enhance the ability to segregate the waste to getthe right value
• Knowledge to understand the schemes of running by govt. to the welfare of Rag Pickers
• Long Term Impact:
• Behaviour Change of the Rag Pickers
• Health was improved of Rag Pickers
• Rag Pickers earned regular income and avoided narcotic drugs.
• Improvement of their financial status of them by involving SHGs
• Livelihood Promotion through SHG methodology
• Improvement in Literacy.
